Ashan R. Hampton has worked as an English Instructor, most notably at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., having served as President of Epsilon Phi in 1993.
Her first publication credit, “The History of the Arkansas State Hospital: 1859-1930,” appeared in the Pulaski County Historical Review, as a result of winning a local history-writing contest in 1995.
In 2000-2001, she participated in the highly competitive Scholars-in-Residence faculty research program sponsored by the Faculty Resource Network at New York University.
She is currently a professional writer, an active freelancer and independent scholar.
