I have lived in San Antonio, Texas all my life, since 1962. I received a B.A. in Criminal Justice, emphasis in Juvenile Justice, from the University of Texas in San Antonio. I have been married for thirty years to a wonderful, supportive man, Rob. I play guitar and compose songs and poetry dealing with life and faith. I am the mother of two special needs young men. I am a carrier of a syndrome called Fragile-X. My eldest son, Robby, went to be with Lord last year, 3/24/2011. He was 27 years old. I was his primary care giver. He was a brave and courageous young man who underwent many reconstructive surgeries, 9+ years of hemo-dialysis and 2 kidney transplants. Our family is adjusting to the absence of his affection, firey spirit and keen sense of humor. My younger son Joshua, who is 24 and autistic, is a gentle soul who knows just the right time to give his mother a hug : ) Robby is our angel and his spiritual presence is with me always. (The following is my initial description of my boys, before Robby passed, but is still true for me today) My sons, Robby and Joshua, are my biggest influences and keep me close to God. They are so smart, but not in a way this world recognizes. I feel they have a divine purpose. My oldest son, Robby, is also a hemo-dialysis patient. God uses him to teach me that life is worth struggles we may face. Life is a priviledge, in the good and the not so good times. Each of us has a purpose and God has a plan for our lives. We just have to trust that He loves us. He'll take care of the rest.
