With over 22 years in business management and strong professional writing experience, Amelia Painter thinks marketing, reads about marketing, and never stops talking about marketing.
Raised by business-minded parents, Painter learned about business at an early age. She and her her two siblings had on-going chores in the family businesses. Painter enjoyed the activity in the office, so she sent her formative years filing, answering phones, typing letters, and performing all the usual types of general office activities while her friends were outside playing with dolls. This early exposure to business set the pace for most of her life.
Painter fell in love with writing and photography shortly after giving birth to her first child. The love of travel came later in life. The passion to learn all she could about marketing has been with her so long she can't recall a time when she didn't think or talk about marketing -- be it a product, an idea or a lifestyle.
Painter has consulted widely with management teams across North America on the topics of marketing, sales and the strategic impact of the Net. Clients and employers have included Dale Carnegie Institute, Southmark Management, Ragland Realty, Jump Magazine, and MiraCosta College.
Amelia began her sales and marketing career with the real estate giant Century-21. She then went on to qualify as a commercial real estate leasing agent, marketing a number of high profile office buildings. Working in sales, marketing and real estate management, she was ultimately responsible for over 2.1 million square feet of office space and the national training program of Southmark Management’s leasing agents. She also won their Top Sales Award by leasing the largest amount of office space in a year.
Moving away from real estate in 1986, Amelia went into the consultancy profession and began writing. While taking some classes at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, California, she was inspired and drawn to the Internet by a University of California Professor that also taught at MiraCosta, Dr. David Megill. His influence and encouragement vaulted her into web design in early 1994, learning HTML coding as it first emerge in the Academic sector. Amelia became a member of the core team that first instructed and introduced staff, students and instructors of MiraCosta College to the World Wide Web and Electronic Mail.
Besides teaching web design and other computer skills, Amelia has also contributed articles to many publications including the San Diego Computer Journal, JUMP (a publication written for the sales & marketing professional), the Financial Freedom Report, and several newspapers on varying topics. She was a staff writer for "Bed and Breakfast America" magazine and currently is the general manager for her company, TotalWebDesigner.com.
As a self-published author, she has been very successful. Since her arrival in Arizona, she has been mentoring other writers and offering her literary and social media coaching services to emerging authors.
