MJ began writing full length stories at the tender age of ten, first jotting down stories her mother would tell her before bed then recording her dreams. Orginally set on becoming a graphic designer, she began publishing a fan based magazine with stories by other young writers, along side her illiterate mother, whom was the main driving force behind her education and a constant source of encouragement. After ten years of publishing, MJ gave up the magazine and comic and began to focus on her writing.
At first she stayed within her safety net and wrote fanfiction, but after several friends read her work and commented that she should create her own characters and put them in the same situations she did just that and produced her very first novel length story in 2002 called Windows to the Soul. Four more novels quickly followed before she even considered having her stories published.
MJ's first passion since childhood has been reading and she still reads anything she can get her hands on when not writing or caring for her young son. The books she reads, whether it be a great fantasy by authors such as Laurell K. Hamilton, Kelley Armstrong, Robin Cook or Kim Harrison, or huge mythology texts, or even crime dramas like CSI have all inspired her writings. MJ loves to combined mythology, paranormal and modern day crime with just a pinch of erotica into her writings to make a whirl wind novel that's sure to thrill all readers.
