I have been a journalist my entire life. I worked at a newspaper, freelanced stories to magazines, and taught journalism for 28 years. My third book Creating a New Normal...After the Death of a Child was published in June 2010. It covers more than 80 coping techniques in article form that parents can use after the death of a child, along with 10 inspirational stories and a huge resource section. This follows my first grief book I Have No Intention of Saying Good-bye, 25 stories from parents who have suffered the death of a child and how they moved on with their lives.

My second book "Creating a New Normal...After the Death of a Child" has won three national awards. They are "Best Books 2010 Finalist Award" sponsored by USA Book News in the Health, Death and Dying category; Finalist in the self-help category of the 2011 Next Generation Indie Book Awards; and Finalist in the ForeWord Reviews "2010 Best Book Award" in the Health category.

As a teacher, I won many awards including journalism teacher of the year for the state and a national finalist. My school newspaper I produced then also won many national and international awards.
