I won the John Steinbeck Short Story Award in my early twenties. I began in earnest with a book of poetry published in audio form by The Library Of Congress for their visually impaired visitors. Although this was a public service, Broken Windows was honored more than by profit.
My writing became very sporatic afterwards and I did not seriously attempt publishing until a year ago. "Fill My Eyes" is a book of "lost" values, the values this nation once possessed and made it so great. The novel has been reviewed by readers and the media including: The Utah Book Review, Flipkart (India) and the internet Review Scout to much acclaim.
My novels are all set in my native homeland of Salt Lake City and are social commentaries with a strong mystery thread. "Fill My Eyes" is available in "brick and mortar" bookstores in large metro areas and online worldwide.
Broken Windows (parts are available on this site) is a project that will be published in book form for the first time in within a couple of weeks and will be available through Amazon. As of 11/21/09, the book is now available.
Falon Rising, a very large novel, is part fantasy/ science fiction and social commentary and is a work in progress. It has a something for every reader. This book has been put on the back burner for a new novel in progress.
Shadows is a semi-autobiographical novel dealing with a dysfunctional year in the life of a child. It is being fine tuned for publication.
I have a moto I live by: If you have to pay to get published, then you are short changing your talent and should throw away your pen. This pertains to publishing "only", not for marketing packages and book covers (if required).
Steinbeck is my favorite writer and I model my work after this great social commentator. He touched on subjects people were not always willing to face. This is a very important facet of a truthful author. I walk in very large footsteps.
