Prolific reader as youngster. Inept Shakespearean actor in high school. Typing turned out to be single most important class. Lived/studied/traveled in India for more than a year before college in Texas. Kept journal which I someday hope to edit/enhance and publish. It's easier than thinking up new stuff. Began university as Pre-Law but switched to Pre-Med (more girls), however continued to take literature, history, and poly sci courses in fruitless attempt to boost GPA. Major influence was Professor Soudek in her class on Tolstoy and Dostoevski. Besides being stunningly attractive, she said my literary criticism read like detective fiction. Decided to take that as a complement but waited 25 years to try a major piece.

Nowadays I read non-fiction almost exclusively. Recent titles include: A Beautiful Mind (Nasar) and Demon-Haunted World (Sagan).

Recently married and now living back in my home town. Chief Financial Officer of new regional cultural arts center.  

As a Scientist: 23 US patents; 40 foreign Patents.

As a sailor: numerous trophies for on-shore and off-shore racing.

As a Writer: first book is off to the races!
