I got hooked reading the books by the late Southern Humor Columnist Lewis Grizzard in the 70's. I didn't start writing a newspaper colum until 2005 at age 49 and have been writing ever since.
While I can't prove it, I've been told most of my life that I'm kin to another late newspaper columnist, Will Rogers. Sharing his last name and love for political humor, I can only hope that's so.
Each book is a compilation of the articles I write for The Morning Paper in Ruston, Louisiana.
The kindest compliment I get about my writing is that you don't have to be from a small town in North Louisiana to enjoy the books. People say that if I changed the names of the people and places in the book it could be the town in which they grew up...that my gray-haired blue-eyed granny could in fact remind you of yours.
I hope that's the case and that you enjoy each of my two books The First and Second Pine Cone Collection.
