I like to believe had I been alive, I'd have been a suffratette, marching in front of President Woodrow Wilson's White House, peacefully protesting, using his own words, about the rights of each American. Rights that had not yet been afforded women in this country.
And I regret that in my lifetime, I wasn't more active in the "feminist" movement -- lacking confidence and a willingness to take risks.
Now, in this phase of my life, what the heck? Why not use my voice for women unable to express themselves.
Maya Angelou, Harper Lee, Christiane Amanpour ... are just a few female voices who speak to my heart and help me be the woman I want to be.
Oh, and did I mention, they all have this dry sense of humor...Ah, humor. A must for this gurl!
