The Forest Of Creation: The Adventure Begins is a children’s story written by F. C. Shaw. The story is about 3 little girls named Amy, Izzy and Faith. The three girls find themselves whished away by a magic tree portal to a mythical land. In this land they meet mythical people and animals. They set off on an adventure to help save a culture from being destroyed. F. C. Shaw, who is also the character Faith in the book, wrote The Forest of Creation at the age of nine. The book was published by Authorhouse publications on August 11, 2008, 10 days before Faith’s 10^th birthday. Faith was encouraged early on in her  life to develop her God given gift for reading by her parents and teachers. When Faith entered pre-K she could already read children’s books and short stories. Faith began writing short stories in Kindergarten at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Newport News, VA. Her Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Kocinsky encouraged Faith to write by allowing Faith to share her stories with the class. Although Faith moved on, Mrs. Kocinsky continued to encourage Faith to write her stories and invite her back to read her stories to the Kindergarten class. It was in fourth grade when Faith wrote ” The Forest Of Creation: The Adventure Begins”. Faith’s original attempt was to write another short story, as she had done in her previous grades, to give to Mrs. Kocinsky to read in her class. This story became a whole lot more and as parents we recognized that this was going to be more than just a short story and something really special. The characters, Amy and Izzy are based off of Faith’s real life classmates and friends, Amy Blackwell and Isabella “Izzy” Rossi.
