Carol Kluz and Randy Morris of the suspense writing team of Carol Randy.

Background Information

Carol: From a writing standpoint, it began with my Mother. She got me into reading at a young age and had a library of books that I loved. The habit stayed into my school years. I attended a Catholic Academy (boarding school) for four years. Four years of English grammar and literature, two years of Latin, and a foreign language were required. Reading, book reports, and writing were emphasized. Even though family led me on other paths, the desire to write was always there...and I still love to read. Randy: My parents encouraged me to care about nature and the outdoors. I would rather be outdoors cross country skiing in the winter or taking nature hikes into the mountains in the summer.

Carol: Does teaching myself to use a computer in my late fifties count? As a youngster, I won a few state speech competitions. My biggest 'achievement' was raising four teens and a five-year-old after the untimely death of my husband. Heh heh, now you know where the white hair came from. I did win the Jada Outstanding Achievement Award for helping other authors on the pathway to success.
Randy: A friend and I went on a mostly foot-treck through Europe. We traveled from Denmark to Italy. After receiving degrees in anthropology and geography from New York University in Buffalo, I was a Vista volunteer and later worked for the forest service out west. Currently, I am the traffic manager for Curt Gowdy Broadcasting.

Additional Information

Carol: I would like to talk a little about Maggie. She is a share-dog. Maggie is a border collie that was rescued by Randy from the Animal shelter. No one wanted Maggie because she has a deformed front leg. Our book, Countermeasures, is dedicated to Maggie. She is directly responsible for the friendship that developed between me and Randy. We became acquainted because I was always talking to the dog and giving her treats. As a result, we tore down the fence between out yards and became a writing team. And, I now have better access to Maggie. We share her. Randy: She didn't mention our share cat, Darion. He was my daughter's pet, but apartment rules forced her to give him up. He very quickly latched on to Carol as well and spends much of his day on her back stoop waiting for her to feed or pet him. Many times he will eat his meal at my house, then head to hers. Oddly, he isn't a fat cat...yet!
