Renate M. Bell grew up in Highland Lake, a small town in the Catskill Mountains of New York, where at a young age she began waitressing at her parent's resort, Pine Hill Lodge. She holds a degree in Interior and Architectural Design and has worked in the building industry for over 26 years. She is a certified Vedic Astrologer, a certified Feng Shui Interior Design consultant, and an Integral Meditation student in training to begin teaching introductory meditation.
While living in Florida, the offer to tend beehives was too intriguing to decline. "It's one of the most difficult things I've ever done", Renate says. "The years spent with the bees made this book possible. I gained a deep respect for the bees and the beekeeping industry.
The story, inspired by my own triumphs and challenges as an amateur beekeeper, is about a woman who unexpectedly loses her husband in a car accident and the struggles she must overcome in order to let go of his dreams and rebuild her own life and authenticity. Chasing Bees is a heartfelt, emotional journey, one of strength, courage, love, and commitment."

In addition to writing, Renate has a professional practice in Vedic Astrology and Feng Shui Interior Design consulting.
She is a certified Vedic Astrologer (Jyotishi) with the American College of Vedic Astrology Sedona, AZ and a Jyotish Visharada CVA with the Council of Vedic Astrology Seattle, WA. The Jyotish Visharada title is aligned with the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences of Rajastan, India.
Renate received certification for Feng Shui Interior Design through the Sheffield School of Interior Design New York, NY.
