I have been an avid reader from the day my mother put a book titled "Dick and Jane" in my hand.
Seven years ago, I started journaling as a form of self-therapy. Although I enjoyed reading, I had never dreamed that I would write a book. I believe my writng was destined through God's grace. My journal notes tranformed into my first novel "Reflections of a Quiet Storm," which was released in March 2009. My second novel was written with a co-author, Faatima Albasir-Johnson, my daughter-in-law. "A Generation of Curses" was released in June 2012. I have also published two short stories and multiple articles that range from topics on health awareness to inspirational fiction. My third novel is in the editing phase and I am working on another short story.
Interesting facts about me: I would rather write than sleep, many years ago I worked for Motown Record Company as a secretary, I am now a registered nurse and nursing professor, I have appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show twice (as a guest, not as part of the audience).
