These books will make your emotions run high. They are inspirational books, relating life's experiences from a teenager to an adult.

Background Information

In 1985 after having many difficult experiences in life, as you will see after reading East Side Dreams, I started a business, Number "1" Disposal in San Jose. Even though I started a successful business, I did not know how to spell, and did not know anything about grammar. I learned how to read in my adult life. I have always had to have my employees write letters for me to other businesses. At times the letters would come back for me to read before sending out. I would review them and sometimes tell the girls to change things. Some times the letters would come back to me two or three times before going out. One morning I sent the letter back four times for rewrite. I felt as if I wanted to explode! I wanted to write my own letters. I just had to! I said to myself, "That's it! I'm going to learn how to write my own letters!" That day I went out and bought a program to learn how to type. I sat in front of my computer every morning and took my lessons faithfully. Then, once I learned, after a few weeks, I asked my wife, "What am I going to practice on?" She suggested that since I enjoyed telling childhood stories, why not write them. I started with short stories of my childhood. I had a spelling list next to me. Everyday I learned how to spell new words. Then, after writing 30 pages, I printed it out. I was really proud of myself. I let my wife look at it. She only read one page, then put it down not saying anything. "Well, what do you think?" I asked. She looked at me not wanting to hurt my feelings. "Well?" I asked again. She looked at me and said, "Well, you really can not write this way." She went on to tell me that my spelling was all-wrong and the whole page was a run-on-sentence. I asked, "What in the heck is a run-on-sentence?" The next day I went to the library and checked out books on writing and grammar. I studied hard and educated myself. I even took a grammar class with high school kids, but I was already passed them with all the studying I was doing on my own. "East Side Dreams" is the product of what I learned. I knew I was a writer when I let others read my manuscript as I was writing. They all told me it was up there with the best. I really could not believe it until one of the editors wanted to come and visit me. On meeting me, he told me I was an artist. It is difficult to think of myself in that light. I just enjoy writing.

Additional Information

"East Side Dreams" is a book that all will enjoy. Everything in "East Side Dreams" is real. I did not put any indecent words in it because I wanted young people to be able to read it, which they are. I tell people when I go to book signings that "East Side Dreams "will be a book that they will really enjoy and never forget. I have not had anyone or any reviews come back negative. I know you will enjoy it also. Remember as you read about the rotten kid in "East Side Dreams" (me), he is all right now! You will also enjoy the "The Monkey Box". My family story will become part of you when you read it. And when you read The Monkey Box, remember, someone has to write your
