Julie Amanda Gaskins is the proud new mother of a wonderful baby boy. She is a prolific writer of poems that motivate and inspire self reflection. She attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee where she studied Biology and Chemistry. She currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland and enjoys learning about the rich cultural history of Africa and the United States. She tries to incorporate this into her sensitive poetry. She is actively involved in promoting social and cultural awareness and often organizes voter registration drives in Baltimore. She has a firm belief in promoting public justice for the disadvantaged and ill-informed, and incorporates this message in her writing.
