If the world were in Black and White, I would be wearing Red.(From the poem "Living Color" by Samantha Gwehi)

Background Information

I have been writing poetry for at least 20 years. Before I could even write, there were poetic thoughts going through my head. I was often told to stop day dreaming. Thank God I did not listen!. I am a huge fan of Maya Angelou. Her work crosses all gender and racial lines. I even named my daughter Maya! I am working on novel, and I am also considering writing a play. Writing to me is about expression and what better way for one to express our emotion that through writing. For me the pen is without a doubt mightier than the sword.

Although I have had offers to publish my work, I have not settle on a publisher as of yet. When I decide to sign with a publishing company, it will have to be a company that I believe in, and more important, believes in me. Being blessed with this talent is reward enough for me. I certified myself as a poet/writer years ago.
Although being published is the goal for most writers, you have to believe in yourself before someone else can.
