I believed my life normal, but too late recognized a chaotic race instead - a "Rat Race."

Background Information

I was born a nimrod with the fighting skills of the ages and as a hometown boy saw the world from afar, but as soon was cast out into it to sink or swim with some of the other young of my time;  I grew as best as I could. I marveled at the places visited and learned to write about them in a way I could recreate the experience by rereading my stories and thus I became the Author of a novel.

As a degreed AC Engineer, I designed HVAC systems for commercial buildings, churches, libraries, schools, and hospitals. When my familly grew and my interest wained (low pay), I shifted into retail store engineering to aid the independent grocer in the San Joaquin Valley until that too faded. Next, I had to rethink myself as a manufacturing engineer when that too cycled until I finialized my learning to graduate myself to a higher standing so I could get on in life.

Reading has always more than interested me and when I eventually realized the story I sought was not forth coming,  I wrote my own narriative. I no longer was left to reread Hemingway and Stienbeck as I never tired of reading at day's end. Now I am writing another book, which I hope to publish someday soon, if I can find the suitable finish. I believe any notable story should have an ending to match.

Three life's influences that come to mind were Benjamin Franklin and Leonardo who have always influenced me in a way I am still fathoming, along with Charles Linbergh who has inspired a world with his courage. Though Leonardo's influence came late, I marveled at his magic.

Benjamin Franklin put together a small like-minded club of individuals to further their beliefs called the "JUNTO" and he alone kept it going for well over 30ty years in the 1700s. Think about it, 7 to 12 people agreeing all that time. This was something that really surprised me as I'd unknownlly tried to do the same thing since the tender age of ten.

And Charles Linbergh was the first to fly over the Atlantic in the 1920s. When I read his biography, I realized  that he was the only one who could have done that - a determined young man. However, I did make a difference in my own life, and realized I too was the only one who could have done it even though not as spectacular.

And Leonardo. What can I say about genius because his many talents went beyond words. His paintings' "magic," for example, has forever been lost in time. Only his drawing of the drapes is left to marvel over and all the other pieces have faded like the Mona Lisa. He was the one genius.

My first novel moved me onto another level in life for the more I wrote the more I knew how much fun I missed in life. This breakthrough was fully realized because I then sensed a levitation that I had never known before. So this is what I am seeing in the other writers and authors - joy, success, rejuvenation.

My major accomplishments were publishing "The Keeper's Gift" in 2008,"King Rat's Memoir" 2012 and lastly "In Voyeur's Time."

Additional Information

My life's accomplishments began when I spent some early years in the military where I got to know the world outside my hometown. Then there was another breech in an earned degree at a trade school, which had been my first and only option. For reasons unknown to me at the time Yale or Harvard or UCLA wasn't an option. And from there my new found strengths sent me on to study the sciences and literatures at the other great schools in California.

Additional information about the Author.

The Keeper's Gift
Every generation produces young people who are raised in a small town and then for some unknown reason they walk away with no more than the clothes on their backs, their names forever lost in the town's history and the following generation will not recall a bloodline. Who are these young people and what happened to them and where and when and why did they go? This is a story about one such boy! Uley Bauer had it all, the fortune of hometown boy and the adventure of a lifetime. The story is an extroadinary moving epic novel based on California history and local stories of the Author's midwest hometown in Missouri. See another world through Uley's eyes and experience the identity. It is man against self.

King Rat's Memoir
If you believe charging ahead through life on a high-tech education is the only way to stay in the "rat race," try coping with the added news from you doctor that you only have a few years to live. You've survived heart attacks, strokes, and other near disasters, and now another one is coming sooner - the inevitable death call. And the only way to stay in the "Rat Race" is to survive another day! Just to stay afloat was brutal and others couldn't keep their heads above water. My self-preservation depended on reinventing myself again and again. I eventually made it - King-of-the-Heap.
