When I write prose, I use too many words, where fewer words would suffice. By contrast, my poetry - free form - tends to minimise my word usage. I am uncertain about exposing my poetry. Like extemporised music, it is there for the satisfaction of the creator. Yet, I have on paper recorded my poetry, mainly for my own benefit, but in so doing I have, in a sense, made it public. Early-Retired in 1987 from career in education, after ten years in secondary classrooms and seventeen years in inservice education of teachers , including curriculum development.

In retirement, heavily involved in social activities for the more elederly.
Sing tenor (sometimes alto). Several times, soloist as Evangelist in oratorios; also tenor lead in a Schubert comic opera. For preference, I enjoy singing madrigals. My taste in music takes me to the baroque and to early music.

Married to Ninette, February 1987. Early-retired August 1987. April 1990 - November 1991: lived in Aude, France, beside Mediterranean. Ophidiophobia brought about our return to UK.
Assist in forging contacts amongst former pupils of my secondary grammar school (Wanstead HS).
I am writing a history of the School to mark its 90th Anniversary on 23 September 2014.
