Combined a thirty-five year career with the rearing of five children. My career began on a much needed basis to provide an extra income for my growing family. As time passed, I found that I enjoyed the work I was doing and the family had become accustomed to the things that an extra income could provide. My employment began as a Sewing machine operator with a well known Apparel Manufacturing Company in 1963. Through the years, I was given the opportunity to work my way up in the company. In 1975, I was among the first women to hold the position of Industrial Engineer with the company. I remained in that position for ten years, where I had the opportunity to travel and meet different people. This was the most rewarding accomplishment of my career. I was transfered from Virginia to Arkansas in 1984 and changed positions in 1985 to a Production Line Manager. I remained in that position until my retirement in 1997. I owe my success to my family for their full support and to the company that made it all possible.
