"All the while we were and are bombarded by messages from Vanity Fair, the place where Mr. Bunyan says Beelzebub, Apollyon, and Legion built centuries ago to disturb the arrival of pilgrims destined to enter the Celestial City. It is still very much with us, and my son could hardly escape the propaganda even if he tried very diligently."

Background Information

I am married with two children and got a late start in many areas of my life. Because I was never able to do much with the art degree from Delta State and eventually landed a job as a hotel maid with a college degree. I ultimately spent several years attending Mississippi State University to get a second bachelors degree and become a teacher which also never materialized. I am not discouraged, but I plan to succeed in what I do because God is on my side. The last thing that I majored in was English and now I have written my first allegory entitled, "My Son, Dunn O. Much by Mrs. Love Very Much". I plan to make a Christian Music CD in the near future to add to the book with my own illustrations. Dunn O. is a character comprised of many men that I have met in my life time, not the least of which is a young man whom I dated in high school who wanted to marry me but the feeling was not mutual. Good Girl is a girlfriend that Dunn does not want and has no business dating because he gets her pregnant and does not want the child either. His dream woman is Always Wanting More who does not want him either because she always wants more. They each find that there is more to life than always getting everything exactly the way they want it because they listen as Dunn O.'s father, Marvel Much, ponders where he will spend eternity while he is dying. Another major influence on the work is "The Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan. Dunn O's mother who narrates the story is a historian and social commentator of the community that has continued at least since the time that Christian made his journey to the Celestial City that Bunyan wrote about. She wants to teach other people what she has learned in life and struggles to find an outlet to share what she knows. It is written primarily for teens and anyone who is older than teens and wants to learn something helpful as they are being entertained. It contains basically a laundry list of things that I would like to share with the whole world but simply need an outlet. However, even I could not get everything into the book and will probably have to write new ones in the future to contain all the stuff that I am ready to share whether the rest of the world thinks it is ready or not. I have to add this. At the time of this writing the book is finished but not published. I will keep the readers posted when there is a significant change.

Accomplishments

I've graduated from these fine institutions:
Neshoba Central High School in Philadelphia, MS.
East Central Junior College in Decatur, MS.
Delta State University in CLeveland, Ms. Art Major, and I've added numerous undergraduate courses from Mississippi State University in Starkville and Meridian, MS. There was also a certificate for Audio Visual Documentation at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Co.

Additional Information

My son, David, is now in Meridian Community College and was afraid to tell me that he wanted to major in Art because it has such a bad reputation in our family. I gave him my blessings because I know it is what God laid on his heart to do. I also have a lovely ten year old daughter named Eva.
