Author of The Master of Planets Trilogy. Priest and Classicist.
The Fall of Nystol was a imaginary-medieval world story. The mystery involves the demise of an ancient wizard college which I first created in 1986, about 50 pages. So please understand that this predates any Harry Potter story. I still possess the original manuscript and refer back to it for the original-spirit and as a guide for the lore. The story was an early creative writing piece which needed better craftsmanship and a more complete system. I finished the magic system of the wizards when I was in the Latin Mass Seminary and have been working on the epic continuously since about 2000. Although I am a priest now and do not have much time, I have still managed to finish the first tome of the trilogy, Never leave Your Monastery. (Please note: I do not read the Harry Potter books nor imitate anything found there, I have nothing to do with them, my own name is coincidental). My writing has been influenced from Gilgamesh, Homer, Hesiod, Plato, Vergil, The Neoplatonists, Dante, Aquinas, Malory, Tolkien, and very much Scripture, Star Wars of course, and a good deal of Gary Gygax.
description of the first book:
MASTER OF PLANETS trilogy BOOK I: The young monk Horsiggli feels an irresistable urge to adventure, to run away to become a noble knight. Lost in the forest, a band of elves introduces him to the underworld and reveals how his monk's knowledge is very needed. He returns to the monks and is found with what appears to be a grimore. Accused of witchcraft and unable to defend himself, he is stripped of his monastic rights. He escapes the inquistion and dauns chainmail to travel the Furth continent with a Sorcerer to find the staff of truth. Only Horsiggli knows how to translate Eldark tomes, the key to the mysterious conspiracy which betrayed the ancient wizard-city Nystol and which now threatens the world. Can he live with thought that God has failed the race of men? Or is it that men have failed God? And when it all ends will he turn in his friend the Sorcerer to the Inquisition?
