Perry Conners, Arizona tycoon and soon-to-be politician, can't sleep or make love anymore, and he's losing all sense of reality. Is it the Devil's fault?..
I feel like I've lived about five different lives...and you can read about them in my five novels, available on Amazon.com.
Background
Information
I was born in California's Central Valley, where I spent my formative years before moving to San Francisco to attend college. I also attended college in Sacramento, earning a B.A. degree in psychology. When I moved to the Central Valley again, to the Fresno area, I began a career in social work, specializing in child welfare cases. During that time, I also received an M.A. degree in counseling.
After more than thirty years in social work, I began writing in earnest, completing five manuscripts within three years of retirement. Of course, I had to polish and refine, and then finally began bringing them out, one by one. They are: "An Accidental Life," "Embrace the Whirlwind," "Chasing Stardust," "Miles to Go," and "Web of Tyranny."
My major influences included my childhood and family experiences, as well as my later time spent providing child welfare services. I'd always wanted to write and had a scribble pad handy for my stories from the time I could write words. Even when I was professionally occupied as a social worker, I would write in a journal and even made attempts to write a novel. I began "Miles to Go" that way in the eighties, even though it was as yet untitled, and despite the fact that other completed manuscripts came out first. Obtaining a computer eight years ago helped jumpstart my new career. That technology made all the difference! I sent manuscripts, partial and/or completed, to various publishers, and even had a contract with a small publisher in St. Louis, MO, but after more than four years of waiting, I took my work to Booksurge, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, and then proceeded to bring out additional novels with them.
In the sixties and seventies, I was married twice and had four children. I am now single and living the dream life of a writer, enjoying my independence, my creativity, and, incidentally, my seven grandchildren.
