The motivator for writing this novel is the overall existence of historically black colleges & universities (HBCUs)! Being a product of Central State University in Wilberforce OH, I love the legacy these schools were founded upon. The fact that HBCU 's came into being during times of great struggle for African American in this country makes them more then simply institutions of higher learning! They are historical landmarks and the new generation of young adults need to see the light that shines from these schools. My book will entertain and hopefully shed light on the real life instances youth encounter when away at college. I also hope readers get the offering of a thorough understanding of the vitality of these instutitions.
If my story encourages one to explore deeper into the possibly of visiting and/or attending a historically black college or university, then my mission will be totally accomplished!
