During her presidency of the Southern Oklahoma Writers' Guild, Lou was honored to introduce Pulitzer Prize Award nominee Harvey Stanbrough at the Public Library in Moore, Oklahoma. Mr. Stanbrough presented his lecture,"Write The World" to guests from various local writing groups.

Background Information

Lou served as church pianist and as a piano teacher for several years.  She is an avid student of poetry, going from novice to prize winning poet in one year of hard studying.  "I created TwinOaks Publishing. This small business allows me to make publication possible for other writers who don't want to deal with the bigger publishing companies." I no longer offer this service.

Birth Place
Thackerville, OK U.S.A.

Lou is a member in good standing in several State Poetry Societies, Winner of six first place awards for poetry in the spring of 2002, and five first place awards in the spring of 2003, One 1st, two 2nd places and three 3rd place awards from Massachusetts in 2007. Lou has been regularly published by Capper's magazine and in various anthologies. Her short story, Legend of the Sierra Madre, A first place winner, will be printed in the "The April Perennial" of North Central Texas College in the spring of 2003.
Lou remains active in the Southern Oklahoma Writers' Guild and in the Moonlight Writers, a play writing group of four. Their first play, "The Buttermilk Conspiracy" was performed three times and received standing ovations. Lou and her co-writers have now completed writing their second stage play, "Secrets of the Buttermilk Hotel." Our next play, "The Confounding Case of the Curious Corpse" was entered in a writing contest in Arkansas. We won third place.

Additional Information

"In today's world, one way to get your poetry published is to self-publish." If you are willing and prepared to promote and market your own work, this is ideal. Having created TwinOaks Publishing, I am able to offer a fast, affordable means of publishing short stories and books of poetry. This makes it possible for writers to share their work with friends and family.
