Flying Fortress Engineer/Gunner 8th Air Force, credited with two kills. Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with three clusters during WWII.
Attended Parks Air College of St. Louis University obtaining an Aeronautical Engineering degree. A & E FAA Mechanics licenses and a private pilot's license.
Employed by McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis in the cost estimating department and progressed through 33 years of employment to manager of Contract Pricing. During this service advanced starting with estimating spare parts through complete fiscal year buys of the Banshee aircraft. Was the company's first manned space estimator and became this counties first manned space pricer with the award of the Mercury spacecraft resulting in NASA's first contract. Continued in the space business and priced the Shuttle Orbitor for McDonnell Douglas as my last major effort.
Took early retirement in order to enjoy my avocations which was designing and building. Designed and built two homes: one in St. Charles, MO and the other in Tucson, AZ.
Discovered my old WWII Bomb Group, the 390th, in Tucson that was starting to build a B-17 Museum. I thereafter devoted my later days as a major contributing builder of displays and the facility.
