Gordon Abbo lives in Oregon. He retired from the practice of psychiatry to pursue writing. In addition to his interest in the working of the human mind, Gordon is fascinated with astronomy and the possibility of extraterrestrial life. He is a fan of Star Trek and Star Wars, and is a member of the Planetary Society and Space Coast Writers' Guild.
In 2004, Gordon developed a serious passion for writing science fiction and began working on his first novel, Tau Ceti 2: A Meeting of Two Worlds, later revised and retitled A Meeting of Two Worlds,, which has been self-published. His major influence has come from Star Trek and the author Ben Bova. He also has written a screenplay based on the novel. Four books are currently published and available online in both paperback and electronic format.
With his vivid imagination and interest in extraterrestrial life combined with his concern about the problems in today's world, Gordon writes science fiction with a psychosocial perspective and a timely message for our society. His creation of another reality provides a safe setting for displaying social problems and discussing possible solutions.
