I'm really glad you are checking out my site. I hope you find it a place where we can share a laugh, see something in a new way, or just take a break together from the stuff that this world can throw at us. If you've got a cup of coffee or a diet Dr. Pepper in your hand, you can be sure that I am likely on the other side of the computer screen with the same.
I am a wife and a mother of 3 children. Our oldest son, Cooper has autism. I am the President of Red Giraffe Marketing and Co-founder of For the Sake of ONE Ministries. I love to write, read, take pictures, go for a run and play and watch most sports; especially if Penn State (my Alma mater) is involved! Most of all, I enjoy sitting in a friend's kitchen with a good cup of coffee.
My most important "title" is disciple of Jesus. I love God and seek to live my life in a way that brings Him glory. About 12 years ago, my husband and I realized we can't make it through this life on our own strength - and were never intended to. We committed to doing it God's way and we rely on Him daily for strength, wisdom, the power to love others and provision of our needs.
Between the ages of 3 and 20 I spent countless hours training as an elite level athlete with dreams of Olympic gold so close I could touch them. Gymnastics, a sport that dictated self-discipline, obedience, strength and tenacity, shaped my character and values.
I spent many childhood hours writing plays and short stories filled with heroines who see their dreams realized and cleverly outwit their oppressors. In my early grown-up years, I found a talent for writing training courses and procedural documentation on complex subjects like mechanical engineering. As interesting as this was, I have turned my writing towards more fulfilling and inspirational topics.
My first book is titled Radical Love...Forever Changed. It was published by Revival Nation Publishing in August 2010 and we have been blessed with the response we've received so far. I am currently writing a book about parenting, faith and autism and have a few childrens' books for kids with autism for which I am seeking a publisher.
I enjoy presenting truth in a simple way. My blog posts give insight into the life lessons I learn as I navigate the challenges of autism, family life, and business. I hope to inspire, in any small way, those who face what seems insurmountable.
Taking my direction from 1 John 1:4, I write that my JOY may be complete!
