I began my writing journey in January of 2007. My first few short stories were bad. It didn't take long for me to realize I had no idea how to craft a story. Character development? Plot? Building suspense? Didn't they just happen?
I purchase a few books on writing, and signed up for two online classes. The work paid off with the publication of my first short short story, "Yesterday's Promise," in the May 2007 issue of Long Story Short. Recently, my stories "In God We Trust" and "The Woman in the Mirror" earned honorable mentions in the Write to Win! and Reading Writers contests, respectively.
I write flash fiction, and many of my stories appear on my website. I share my thoughts on writing on my blog, and I serve as a flash fiction editor for Apollo's Lyre magazine.
