I am an Oklahoma City native and work as a licensed professional counselor, primarily with young people and their families. Growing up in church gave me a foundation of spirituality, but as I encountered the many challenges of life, I learned the value of faith not only in God, but in myself. As a counselor, I have been continually amazed at the resiliency of the human spirit in the face of unbelievable difficulty. There seems to be something in us all that longs to hold on when life and situations are clawing at us to let go. I have learned that few things are worse than losing our sense of hope, but that with that hope, we can get through just about anything we have to face.
I have a B.A. in journalism and an M.Ed. in community counseling, both from the University of Oklahoma. However I have found that most of my education, at least the part that really matters, has and continues to come from my family, steadfast and true friends and a faith in God that has been tested and found true.
