I've always wanted to write novels -- not just write, but novels specifically. I tried to find time while I was working and raising four boys. Now that I'm retired it's finally happening. My first novel, Summer's Story, uses our experience in raising, training and racing Standardbred horses. My husband and I had a small breeding farm in New Jersey in the heart of the Standardbred racing industry.
When we retired, we moved to Pennsylvania with the remnants of our brood mare band and our stallion. We now live on a larger farm outside the small town of Montrose. My next book due to be published in 2009, Murder in Montbleu, uses the background of life in a small town. I plan a series of mystery books using this background.
Since I love reading both mysteries and romance novels, that's what I write. Why not have fun at the same time you're being productive?
