I love writing poetry, mostly humerous, sometimes political (sometimes both). I find poetry an amazing way to express all sorts of emotions be it the love one feels for ones children or anger at the latest political outrage. There are many poets whose work I admire Carol Ann Duffy, Simon Armitage, Robert Louis Stevenson to name but a few. I often feel annoyed though that humerous poetry isn't given the recognition it deserves, Pam Ayres isn't even included in the Poetry Archive! I have loved her stuff since I was a girl.I have recently been introduced to the work of Steve Chering, another very humerous poet who has a flare for introducing strange and fascinating new words to the English language!
