I am a retired policeman and have been a private detective for 15 years. I started writing in 1987 while I was still a policeman. I researched and co-wrote a nonfiction book about a lynching that took place in Pekin, Illinois in 1869 when it was still the edge of America's frontier. After that I wrote a fictional version of the same incident and went on to write another fiction called Greenhorns and Killer Mountains as well as five screenplays. Most of this was the result of meeting film director Virgil W. Vogel in 1990 during the filming of Mario and The Mob in Chicago staring Robert Conrad and Ann Julian. My Detective Agency surveillance van was being used in the film. Vogel was the director of that film. After reading the manuscript Lynch Law, he encouraged me to write a screenplay based on it. He later invited me to visit the set of Walker: Texas Ranger in Dallas where he was directing the Pilot movie for the TV series. I spent a week on the set and was educated in the film making process. I was even an extra in a bank robbery scene. A great experience for any writer. Over the next few years, Virgil, his wife Pat, my wife Judie, and I, attended several film festivals together where we met many fine actors, including the late Ben Johnson.

I have published three books, have a finished manuscript for a fourth one and two more in different phases of completion. My latest book, Slayer of Innocence, is about a pedophile serial killer I helped bring to justice. I have also written five screenplays. One of my screenplays, Major Pauline, is based on the real life of actress Pauline Cushman who, during the Civil War became a spy for the North. The screenplay won the bronze award in the WorldFest-Houston 2000 International Film Festival.

My fourth book, FIRST LADY ABDUCTED, is a what if, fictional account about the kidnapping of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis by Mexican rebels who plan to use her for their cause, the bandito who did the kidnapping and decides to sell her to a Cuban/ Russian faction, and the four-man Special Forces Team with orders to slip across the border, locate and rescue her, eliminate her abductors and get back across the border in eight days to prevent what would surely be World War II. The manuscript is now finished and ready for publication.
Just for everybody's information, I have been busy for the last two years writing a screenplay and and producing a feature length western movie based on that screenplay.
