Biography of Michael James Stewart
Michael James Stewart, a native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has enjoyed successful careers in: creating new retail concepts; international association management; and, developing an international consultancy in project financing and high-yield investments.
Throughout his varied and successful careers, he combined his strong work ethic and creativity with his passion for joie de vivre and his parents’ dictum of “travel is the best form of education”, by living in the United States, England and the Caribbean, while travelling extensively throughout those areas, plus Europe, Turkey, most of South America and Mexico.
During those journeys, he has enjoyed meeting the powerful, famous, humourous, and fascinating, along with a plethora of devious and desperate, scamps, roués, charlatans, politicians and human effluvia. It was that personal enjoyment, coupled with his love of recounting the many and varied events to friends, which led him to writing, while his fondness of mysteries decided his genre.
Michael cleverly weaves maze-like plots that emanate from his wry vision of the world around him and a somewhat bent sense of humour; and, blends all with his life experiences and the bountiful number of people, whom he has had the privilege to meet.
Deeply respecting his readers, he leads them on clue-ridden romps involving insightful views of elegance and wealth along with international locations, while challenging the reader to decipher what they are reading, in order to solve the crimes prior to the final resolutions.
Unlike many mystery writers, Michael never talks down to the reader or cheats by referring to clues that were never revealed. Abundant, and oft-time, humourous dialogue, coupled with intimate setting descriptions, allows the reader to become part of the action that results in a fun and fast-paced read.
