1. In the beginning

2. Books and short stories

In the beginning:

Victor Darnell Hadnot was born in West Los Angeles, California, to a single parent mother, his father left when he was two. His mother worked as a teacher. His grandmother raised him in his early years because his mother suffered with bouts of depression and had to be hospitalized.

Victor Darnell Hadnot was a writer from early in his youth, writing his first manuscript at age nine. Later he'd spend a large part of his time doing research at the local and college library. He used this time to study the great science fiction authors of that day, learning to develop his style and most important, shaping his sense of the Lord Jesus Christ, how to integrate his faith into his stories, observing that most of the science fiction writers of the day, stayed away from Christianity or were hostile towards it. It was during this time that he started to focus on his first novel, Eontimeoc, which wouldn't be finished for a good decade or two. He always considered himself a "slow writer".

He attributes his lifelong faith in Jesus Christ to his upbring, living with his grandmother who was a religious person herself, often taking him and his brother to church every Sunday. Also, a factor in his religious development was his beloved uncle who was a minister, so that the word of God thrived in his early life.

The family lived in Southern California, in 1950 through the sixties and then his mother having gotten better returned to teaching and they moved to the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. There he experienced the plight of the Native American and learned many things and ways. In this whole time, he had only seen his father once, so being raised in a single parent home seemed normal to him, and it seemed normal for the times, as he observed that some other children also lived in single parent homes.

Victor Darnell Hadnot graduated from Mt. San Antonis College in 1980 after having served in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge. He studied engineering and technology and creative writing. It was during this time that he met various professors that helped to shape an influence his writing.

Victor Darnell Hadnot married in (1987–2003), and with his wife had three children, a son and two daughters. His son also seems to have the desire and passion for writing as well.

Books and short stories:

Although he is often seen as a Christian Science Fiction writer, he tries to leave himself open for new ideas and directions, writes with an "edge".

"I write what the Holy Spirit moves me to write and I enjoy a close relationship with God. We all are sinners, none of us are perfect. But Jesus Christ is perfect and that is all that matters to me."
