I live in my hometown in Louisiana where I'm a wife and a mother of six sons. I enjoyed reading stories and poetry even as a child, I would stay up late reading a good book. I have always had a passion for music. A poem is, in essence, a song with music put to it. I never thought of myself as being poetic until February 2003, when the words just started flowing out. I was pleasantly surprised. That's when I began my journey of writing.
Some of my favorite authors include Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allen Poe, Sir Walter Raleigh, and Queen Elizabeth I.
My first and third poems have been certified as a semi-finalist and have been chosen to be published by The ILP in Summer 2003 in The Eternal Portraits Series. I have also been chosen, for my first poem, to be one of 33 poets whose artistry will be recorded professionally as a special part of a new poetry collection, The Sound of Poetry. I have been nominated as Amateur Poet of the Year for 2003 by the International Society of Poets. My seventh poem is being considered for inclusion in a hardbound anthology series.
