Thank you one and all for visiting my den. My university professor urged me to join which I did with a fair amount of doubt that anyone would be interested in my scribblings. Never have I been so happy to be wrong.
The one man who has most influenced my work would probably have to be J.R.R. Tolkien. Not because of the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings particularly but rather because of the tapestry he wove. I remember being 10 years-old and climbing aboard the oh so unmanagemable barrel along with Bilbo. To create a new world, one which people could not only see but believe in, that is writing.
Poetry came easy to me during the turbulant teens. As with most young authors I was both self-absorbed and judgmental. 200-300 pieces later I can still fall into that trap. Please forgive me the indulgence.
I am married to a wonderful woman with three typical children (12, 9 and 3). They, along with work and school, do not afford me much time to write. They say the apple does not fall far from the tree. I live one mile from the house I grew-up in and only two blocks from my brother. We reside in the infamous city of Bakersfield, Ca. It is everything you ever heard, and more.
I enjoy hearing what people think so feel free to drop me a line.
