New author Jennifer 'Je' Wilford takes you a journey of death and a second chance at life.

Background Information

New author Jennifer 'Je' Wilford introduces a heart felt true story, that will capture your attention and touch your heart from the very beginning. In an attempt for self searching, Jennifer surveyed several higher educational programs to assist her in identifying her skills. Wanting to follow in her cousin, Dr. Michael K. Butler's footsteps, she peeked an interest in medicine. She continued to purse that dream in high school by enrolling in the medical program at Belaire High School in 1988. After graduating in 1992, her interests turned to the field of Architecture Design while attending Southern University in Baton Rouge. Still trying to find her niche, she pursued other venues, such as Pharmacy and Law Enforcement, until she was re-introduced in 2006 to her first love, which is design.

However, the gift of Graphic Design did not occur overnight.  She began drawing at the tender age of 7 and designed her first T-Shirt at the age of 10.  With God's direction, she used the talents that he had given to her and took a leap of faith and became the sole owner of Je'Designs, a freelance graphic design and promotional company.

Je' always had a mature level of thinking and writing, but it wasn't until the sudden death of her mother and father, that she picked up the pen to write again. Not knowing any other way to cope with their death, she counts God as being her source of strength, enabling her to write through her pain. She has stated on several occasions, that God gave her the name, "Blessed Therapy". "

My mother taught me at an early age that anytime you want something in your life to prosper, you must keep God first. I have always considered it to be a blessing to be able to help others with their problems by simply listening to them and telling them about the changes that I have been through in my life. It helped them, but it was my therapy".

After living an alternative lifestyle for 18yrs, Jennifer decided to walk away and give her life back to Christ. She states, “It has been a difficult road, but there is no situation that I can't overcome, as long as God is with me. I want to see Jesus when I die; and I want to see my parents as well. I've learned in life that you will always fear what you don't know. This time, I turned fear, into Faith and I let God lead the way".

New Memoir Shows How Loss Can Lead to God Jennifer Cheniere Dixon Wilford Shares Life Story in Inspirational New Memoir DALLAS – At some point in our lives, most of us will have to cope with the death of one or both parents. Sometimes, the loss may be expected; other times it may come out of nowhere. But rarely do we have to cope with losing both parents within close proximity of one another. In her compelling new memoir, Blessed: Therapy: A True Story (published by AuthorHouse), Jennifer C.D. Wilford shares the experience of losing her mother and father within 10 months of each other and candidly discusses how it irrevocably changed her attitude, lifestyle and beliefs. Up until 2008, Jennifer had lived what she refers to as an “alternative lifestyle,” battling with her sexuality almost daily and exclusively dating women. Then, to her family’s shock, her mother, Carolyn, was diagnosed with terminal gallbladder cancer and died three weeks later. Still recovering from her father’s passing from congestive heart failure just eight months prior, Jennifer turned to God, determined to strengthen her faith and follow God’s instructions to help her through this rough time. “My mother taught me at an early age that any time you want something in your life to prosper, you must keep God first,” Jennifer writes. “I have always considered it to be a blessing to be able to help others with their problems by simply listening to them and telling them about the changes that I have been through in my life. It helped them, but it was my therapy.” After living a lesbian lifestyle for nearly 20 years, Jennifer made the life-changing decision to walk away and dedicate her life back to Christ. She writes honestly about what a difficult road it was, but says “there is no situation I can’t overcome, as long as God is with me. I’ve learned in life that you will always fear what you don’t know. This time, I turned fear into faith and I let God lead the way.” Heartfelt and honest, Blessed: Therapy: A True Story could serve as a guiding force for anyone coping with the loss of a parent or struggling with their sexuality. Follow Jennifer on an incredible journey in the pages of this uplifting book. Stock your shelves with this one! About the Author: Jennifer, a native of Baton Rouge, La., currently resides in Dallas and is the owner of Je’ Designs. She is a member of the Friendship West Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III. This is her first book and she is currently at work on a second, Back from the Closet.
