There is nothing to writing, all you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein. -Walter Smith

Background Information

I first began writing when I was about 14 years old, but didn't become serious about it until seven years ago.

I've written three novels, nine short stories, two novelletes, and a novella. I currently submit regularly to Weird Tales, Dark Discoveries, Damnation Books, and soon to GUD magazine. I have one publishing credit thus far, a short entitled Decaf Was It, Or Just Idios?, which appeared in Write Around Portland's ten year anniversary edition of their anthology, North of North.

I have a strong passion for the Macabre, and write psychological and supernatural thrillers. I am a current student of writing and publishing at Portland State University, where I am finishing my BS in Arts and Letters with a minor in Writing and then going on to get my Masters in Publishing.

I write under the pen name Cyrus Wraith Walker. I am a fairly private person but do network with other writers and celebrities. You can visit me at MySpace under my pen name.

My biggest thrill in life is seeing the characters in my work take over the story in the writing process. It's amazing to me when that happens. It's not hard to believe in the muse when that happens, even though I have a great understanding of the subconscious mind and the incredible amount of information gathering it does without our awareness, it still seems like magic to me.
