Ancestry research and genealogy studies as well as good-old family storytelling sessions influenced my writing of my first book. I am a high school English teacher (23 years now) and have found my voice. I enjoy writing comfortably descriptive prose about what I have found after researching.

Always a fan of writer Earl Hamner, Elliott writes about his feelings and adventures growing up in Southern Indiana. His parents and grandparents were born in the foothills of the Appalacian Mountains...but they left there before he was born.
"Since I wasn't born until they all lived in Southern Indiana, I wanted to know more about why they left Kentucky.--They all spoke of it so effectionately." His findings inspired him to write this new memoir / biography published by Outskirts Press, November 17, 2009.
