Here is a little background that assisted in me becoming who I am. (The complete story is posted under "Homeless".)
The air was crisp on that late December day. It penetrated the homes in Vohnhausen, a small town nestled in the state of Hessen, Germany. I had already begun preparing myself to set off for work; however, the man who assisted in my conception and his wife had discovered they could place another burden on my shoulders.
“What the -- is your problem!” lashed the warden. He had wisps of hair that lightly flowed into a horseshoe cap on that pale face that could not hide the signs of age. He was clothed with the usual thin button-up shirt from which emerged sleeves of bronze skin. They formed a landscape of freckles on those unending slender beams of fury. A mug of coffee tranquilly balanced in his left hand so as to not even let a ripple affect the serenity of its caramel complexion.
