The major influences in my life are Jesus Christ, His Father, God, and my earthly father, John Amburgey. I thank God for the talent, Christ for helping me to enhance it and my father for encouraging me to keep at it. I can also credit my Literature teacher in the Eleventh grade, Mr. Mays - Jeff Davis County High School, Hazlehurst, GA (If he is reading this, please contact me). It took me twenty years, but here I am.
My writing influences are numerous, so numerous that I can't list them all. I love to read a good book and that often inspires me to do my best to write something that I hope will touch the minds and hearts of others.
I didn't used to like to read, but now I love it. A wise man once told me nearly fifteen years ago, "If you want to write and write well, then you need to read." I have spent the last fifteen years with my hand on the pulse of the market trying to perfect both skills.
I am not tied to one particular genre in reading, so I am not in my writing as well. I like to challenge myself. This may be my undoing as an author, but I wish to write in several genres in my lifetime. In my plans are some futuristic fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, crime drama, western, and maybe even a mystery or two, who knows. The palets are blank and the brush is in my hand.
Now, all I need is an audience. That is where I hope all of you come in. Please look for me in the near future.
God Bless you all.
