Creator of the Octologue, an an eight-line, syllabic form of poetry, free-lance writer Patricia Gomes is the Editor-in-Chief of Adagio Verse Quarterly, co-editor of Dante's Bastard Son, and a regular interviewer for Lily an Online Literary Review.

Background Information

Bukowski is a major influence. Oh - let's not forget Tristian Tzara; without he, there'd be no me. I'm a beat dadist at heart. There are more, of course. Hmmm - Capote, Shirley Jackson, Stephen King (there - I've admitted it publicly!), the Bronte sisters and the lyrics of Alice Cooper.

Second Place winner (2005)"Poets Out of Hiding" Contest sponsored by Fall River, Massachusetts Narrow's Center for the Arts. First Place winner in iVillage's Horror Writer's Contest. (2000 & 2002) First place winner in the iVillage Annual Poetry Slam. (2002 & 2003) Second Place in 2004. April 2001: Honorable Mention in the InterBoard Poetry Competition (IBPC) hosted by Web del Sol for "An Uncomfortable Remembrance".

Additional Information

Most recent publications include: Scorched Earth, House of Pain, Literary Potpourri, Shadow Keep Magazine, Dark Krypt, Gaea's Cauldron, Animus, The Bohemian Rag, Unlikely 2.0, Artella, Blue Fifth Review and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's "Temper Review."
