I have had a strong relationship with animals throughout my life and have owned and trained a variety of dogs and horses since childhood.
My current dog, Blitz, has achieved the Companion Dog (CD) obedience title and won both a gold and silver medal in obedience at the Alexandria Canine Games.
We will soon be working to earn his Companion Dog Excellent (UCD) title. At the moment I'm taking a break from dog training to raise my kids – a five year old and three year old twins.
My professional career has focused on science and the environment. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University and past work includes basic laboratory research on the arachidonic acid cascade in white blood cells, research at the Federal Bureau of Investigation on ABO typing in salvia, and environmental consulting on Superfund and wastewater treatment.
I have worked extensively with databases and earned a Masters of Science in Information Systems from George Mason University. In my current job I'm working on environmental performance measures, specifically in the area of enforcement.
