I can remember writing since the collection of Haikus I wrote in the 3rd grade. They were the first in a string of very many, and I'm happy to say that though I dont do so many haikus these days, poetry remains a passion of mine. I won my University's poetry contest and still go on to both write and read poems a few times a year.
Beyond poetry, I also have a love for music-- and writing it. I've been writing and performing for 5 years now, finding it to be a great outlet for my words and emotions. Though it has been difficult to maintain with a crowded school and work schedule, I'm attempting to keep up with it and not lose sight of the dream.
Currently I've been doing more non-fiction writing. I work as a content writer and marketing representative for a local niche marketing company. Through this job I have further developed my SEO skills, and utilize these not only for my full time position, but also for freelance writing. I have published numerous articles, on a variety of different topics and continue to research in hopes of improving.
Other than that, I'm just your everyday struggling college student! I'm pursuing a bachelor's degree in sociology that I will (hopefully) recieve next spring. I try to use this education as a foundation for writing well informed articles and break certain unhealthy social norms to push for social change. A true activist at heart, I certainly want to change the world.
