"To be successful is to have the power to positively influence lives." If you enjoy reading stories that encourage, inspire, intrigue, and entertain, you'll love what I write. I believe we have a responsibility to assist others and teach them how to guide the children with love while teaching them love is colorblind and success is for every one willing to put in the work to achieve it.

Background Information

rJo was born the oldest of eight children to a woman who was politically active throughout her life. Through her mother's lifestyle, she discovered the satisfaction of helping people through their troubled times. Throughout her life she loved to write poems and short stories but never had them published.  As she mellowed in years, the desire became stronger to put her words in print.  Thus, after she retired from the United States Air Force in 1999, she pursued her dream of becoming an author and published 3 books in three years and has a new one in the works.

Each of rJo's books touches a different aspect of our lives.  She contends life is that way and so is the interest of people.  She continues to express the adventures of life through her writings.  She realizes that we all have a story to tell and she tells every story that touches her heart because she knows it will also touch yours.

March 2003, rJo and her daughter Shaquasia Marie released their first book, "Welcome Home."  This is a story of hope, sacrifice, and transformation of the family, as seen through the eyes of a Black/Hispanic, teenaged girl being raised in a single parent home.  This story will give you insite to what can happen when rivals become family members.  It is a story that will touch your every emotion. You will laugh, feel moments of sadness and you will cry as the girls learn to bond and suffer at the hands of Monique who is determined not to be put aside to make them comfortable in the home.

March 2004, rJo released "Loving One Man", a romance novel about a local politician in a small town who is a man that learns best during the hands on experience.  He is someone many would like to trust, but find out that this is impossible at times.  He could be just like someone you know serving as a local politicians?  Could this be happening in your town?  Is this really fiction?  You be the judge.

March 2005, rJo released "Lime Light", a short novel referencing the to life of her mother, Prenzina Holloway who was influential in the lives of many political figures in the City of Hartford, CT during her over 45 years of political and community involvement.  This is a story that will touch your every emotion.  You'll feel the anger as well as the distrust of those around her with an emotional explosion at the conclusion.  "This is life in the political arena."March 2003, rJo and her daughter Shaquasia Marie released their first book, "Welcome Home."  This is a story of hope, sacrifice, and transformation of the family, as seen through the eyes of a Black/Hispanic, teenaged girl being raised in a single parent home.  This story will give you insite to what can happen when rivals become family members.  It is a story that will touch your every emotion.
