Marley's books The Outlaw Youngers:A Confederate Brotherhood and Jesse James:The Man and the Myth were both recognized with the Milton F. Perry Award for their extensive research and contribution to American history. Marley co-produced the album Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angeles, Live 1973; the track "Love Hurts" brought a Grammy nomination for Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris.
