After working as a teacher and guidance counselor for a private school in Cambridge, Massachusetts for ten years, my husband and I moved, with our two children, to the west coast and settled in Burbank, California.
In 2009, my son encouraged me to read several of his favorite young adult fiction series. I burned through his book list, and I loved the stories. They were all best selling titles, but as much as I loved them, I wasn't entirely satisfied. When I ask myself why, I realized that I would have told the stories differently. That's when I decided to write a story that I really wanted to read.
And sure enough, I woke up the next morning with a story idea that excited me. I explained the outline to my son, who insisted that I write it. He literally put his hands on my shoulders, looked me in the eye and say, "Mom, I have never read anything like that. You have to write it." So, I began that night and two months later the first draft of my first novel, INTWINE, was complete.
It was published in June of 2010 and has become the first book in a series. In 2013 the Kindle version became a number one best seller on Amazon under SciFi/Adventure.
I participate in book signings, I give creative writing classes, and I run a small business in my home where I make and sell a product line called "Christina Moss Naturals," and of course, I continue to write.
