As a naturalist I have hiked extensively in the wilderness of Oregon, Wasghington, Idaho and California. In my quest to experience nature I camped under the stars for many nights in the High Desert of the Great Basin, walked under waterfalls of the Columbia Gorge, viewed the panorama of the Dry Falls, bicycled up the steep inclines of the peaks of the Sierras, enjoyed the wonders of Yosemite, Zion, the Sierra Madres of New Mexico, the Grand Canyon, Snake River Valley and Hells Canyon. In the summer of 1981, I took a bicycle tour from San Diego along Highway 101 to Carmel then east to Yosemite and back. During my stay in San Diego, I surfed the waves of Pacific Beach to Baja California. Many a weekend I camped in the Cuyumaca mountains, hiked through the Anza Borrega desert and sailed the waters of Mission Bay. For many years I lived in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. Here I made my home growing organic vegetables and propagating plants from the wild. Now I live in the Highlands of New Jersey and go fly fishing most every day. Often I frequent the rivers of the Catskills and tributaries of Lakes Erie and Ontario.
