First let me say that I am in no way a licensed Therapist but I do have book knowledge and have learned from 30 years of REAL LIVED EXPERIENCE on the streets. MAJOR INFLUENCES THAT MADE ME WANT TO WRITE THIS BOOK; Being able to overcome most of the affect sexual abuse  had on my life and a thirty year drug & alcohol addiction. Being a victim/survivor of alot of abuse including sexual abuse as a child and not knowing who  to go to for help. Inspired me to write this book to help make sure NO OTHER CHILD OR ADULT AFFECTED BY ANY FORM OF ABUSE CARRY THAT LOAD BY THEMSELVES AND NOT BE AWARE OF WHERE TO GO FOR HELP. Also I was inspired because I wanted both Youth and Adult survivors of the same type of horrific experriences I had to know ;THAT THEY CAN GET BETTER .  Wanting to give hope to those in recovery and those still in their addiction and/or suffering from a mental illness. To be a positive example that participating in Therapy/groups helps. And reaching out to that HIGHER POWER HELPS.  To give HOPE to the children and other family members  of the person recovering from any of the above, all of this played a major influence in me writing this book. 

I graduated & Certified from Project Return, Mental Health America and The Los Angeles Department of Mental Health Peer Advocacy Program in 2008, June 9, 2009, Certified as a Chemical Dependency Specialist in Criminal Justice and certified that same year as an Anger Management Facilitator through Los Angeles Southwest College. I wrote and got my first book , The Streets, My Cradle published released, March 2010. A tool to reach out and help discourage those who have experienced or who may be thinking about experiencing the street life discourage children from running away from home. From 1980 to 2005 I would surface from the street life off and on for about six months to a year. I was still unstable in my recovery but I volunteered work for the following Agencies: Job Corps Women In Community Services, Legal Aide Advisory Board of Greater Los Angeles, The Congress of Racial Equality (C.O.R.E., Compton NAACP, Save Our Sons, California Coalition Opposed to Three Strikes, I wrote suggestion to the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors (Honorable Gloria Molina was the Chairperson at that time) suggestions that were accepted and implemented in the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services Computer System called The Leader System that started at the end of 2000, to help end homelessness, and to help first time parents, helping to fight to end child abuse etc. Prison Ministries (Beth Ross) First United Methodist Church, When I got STABLE in recovery (GOING ON SIX YEARS, NOT LONG ENOUGH SMILE) I worked for Central Living Center (Recovery Home), The Crenshaw House (Sober living), California Drug Treatment Program, Staffed Hospitals, worked as a Community Organizer. In 2006 I was invited to speak on behalf of Prostitution (with no other crime committed), (sending women to a program who wanted help, where they could get Counseling, assistance with returning to school, employment and housing instead of jail time) by Former Assemblyman Mark Ridley-Thomas Legislative Aide, Ivonna Smith at a Stakeholders meeting. 2008 Invited to Assemblyman Mike Davis Office to speak on behalf of monies for mental health programs for Youths and Adults. 2009 assisted Attorney for WLCAC, Watts Labor Community Action Committee re-entry program with assisting to get peoples criminal records expunged/dismissed.2009 attended a retreat and Board hearing in Sacramento for the State of California Network of Mental Health Clients with suggestions to help Youth and Adult Mental Health Programs. 2009 Worked at Manchester Square Sober Living Home as a Residential Manager Interviewed October 2010 on the Dr. Thema (taa-ma)Show, 1680 Am, Whittier, Ca., podcast, www.adviceradio.com, Dr. Thema is not only a radio host but also a Psychologist, Minister at FAME, and a Professor at Pepperdine University. And now working on my next book that is soon to be released IN 2011, "DON'T IGNORE MY CHILD'S CRIES" (and Dont Ignore Mines Either)will share a little bit about it later.
