My favorite influence for my wrting is life itself - not just mine, but anyone or any event that means a lot to me. This is why I know I will continue writing for the rest of my life. The possibilities and subjects are endless. Of course, I would never exclude the past as well as the present, so that covers countless characters and plots! The fact that I still have a day job is very irritating to me! Twenty-four hours is not nearly long enough for each day since I have to spend 8 of those hours concentrating on something totally unrelated to writing and another 6-8 hours sleeping. I need more time. I'm sure this is what I'll be saying on my death bed. "Wait - I'm not done yet!"
So far I have had 5 plays published by Samuel French, which have all been written to honor someone I admire or an event that stands out in my life. Of course they are all comedies. More to come!
I also wrote and conduct The Vampire Tour of San Francisco! This is a very fun way to learn the history of San Francisco. About 85% of the script is true San Francisco history with fun vampire lore and humor mixed in. I have written a similar tour for New York and London and hope to sell those to someone who will have as much fun with them as I have with the San Francisco tour. Again, more to come!
